It’s almost Hangover Handicap time.

This will be the 41st year to ring in the new year with Tesh’s annual 5-mile fun run.

The Hangover Handicap will take place Jan. 1.

Registration is now open at www.teshinc.com.

Participants can also register at the run site, 203 E. Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive. (behind Michael D’s Eatery) beginning at 8:30 a.m. The run starts at 9:30 a.m.

Proceeds will support Tesh’s mission: to offer choice and opportunity to people with disabilities of all ages seeking greater independence, self-sufficiency and participation in their community.

There’s another way to support Tesh at this time.

The agency has identified a safety/preparedness need, for throw and personal blankets to be used by staff members and clients in the event they are not able to leave the facility at the end of the day.

“We are asking our community partners to consider purchasing throws/personal blankets when they are put on sale or donating clean, gently used throws/personal blankets,” said a news release. “You may want to ‘re-gift’ the one from ‘Aunt Betty’ that doesn’t match any current décor. Whatever the source, new or clean, gently used throws/small personal blankets are welcome at Tesh.”

Any runner who brings a throw/small personal blanket to the run will have their name entered in a drawing for a gift basket at the Hangover Handicap 2018.
