Rahland (Ron) Averill, 73
Rahland (Ron) Averill, family patriarch, was called home on Dec. 14, 2017, at the age of 73, at the gracious Schneidmiller Hospice House. He is survived by his wife, Carol, and four adult sons and their families, including eight grandchildren.
Ron was an Air Force veteran, which inspired each of his sons to serve in various branches, a point of pride for Ron.
He was originally from New York, but lived the last 40 years in Idaho. He loved being outdoors in awe of God’s creation. Some of his fondest memories were of hiking and camping with his family in the Palisades, and the surprise 50th wedding anniversary party in Sandpoint last June. Some of his least favorite memories were those of his kids causing mischief in their youth. After all, he had four boys! But this was good for a laugh later in life.
His favorite song lyrics were “doodly doodly doo,” which conveniently worked for every song.
Although he is away from the body, he is at home with the Lord. He now walks alongside Jesus in the Kingdom. We will see him again.
