Carlene

Frame, 75

Carlene Kaye (Erickson) Frame, 75, passed into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017. Born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Carl J. and Bernadine B. (Stoddard) Erickson, on Feb. 25, 1942.

She graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1960. Her folks were 33 years ahead of her, both graduating from Coeur d’Alene High in 1927. While Carl and Bing enjoyed the “Roaring ’20s,” Carlene lived in the ’50s, the “Happy Days.” It was a fun-filled and special time in her life, especially enjoying the music, dancing and all of the activities, including joining her many friends to drill as a Vikette. Being beautiful both inside and out, she was honored many times by her peers, voted “most friendly,” and serving as Junior Prom, Homecoming and Job’s Daughters Queens.

After attending North Idaho College, she married her lifetime love and partner, Gary Allan Frame, working at the Administration Building at the University of Idaho to help pay for Gary’s last year in the engineering college. Upon their return to Coeur d’Alene, she assumed the responsibilities of the home, ultimately raising a family that grew to a total of five with the subsequent arrival of Scott, Kevin and Christine. The addition of three dogs made for lively, fun filled times as the kids participated in many of the same activities as the Vikings that she and Gary had enjoyed a generation before them.

Having a strong Christian faith, many wonderful relationships were developed while participating in Bible study fellowship and the many activities of St. Paul Memorial/Coeur d’Alene Bible Church. This laid the foundation for a strong family bond that continued for a lifetime. In their early married life, they were talked into buying a lot on Lake Coeur d’Alene (which they never regretted), and this of course, led to the construction of a lake cabin that they continued to enjoy with their family for the rest of their lives. Having lost her folks at an early age, she recognized the brevity of life, and with her husband, Gary, she lived and loved life to the fullest, always ready to pack up and head out to see and experience something or somewhere new. Carlene was dearly cherished and will be sorely missed. Until we meet again!

Carlene was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Bernadine Erickson, and is survived by her husband, Gary; children, Scott, Kevin (Danielle) and Christine; and grandchildren, Morgan, Nathanial and Carlee.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Coeur d’Alene Bible Church, to be followed by internment at Forest Cemetery, with Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene, in care of the arrangements.

The family wishes to extend our warmest thanks to our many loving friends and Hospice of North Idaho for all of the cherished help and support, and we would prefer memorial contributions to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835.
