EXPERIENCE: Needed or not?

| December 6, 2017 12:00 AM

One paragraph in Mr. Carlson’s Dec. 1 Chronicle left me with a question. He states that Idahoans have never voted for a governor who hasn’t had prior political experience, nor vetted by the electorate. He says an Idaho voter thinks the governorship is no place for on-the-job training.

Why, then, Mr. Carlson, didn’t those sentiments transfer to the most important elected office, POTUS, in November 2016? A known sexual predator, with no political experience at all, won all four of Idaho’s electoral votes and gleaned 219,290 more votes than Hillary Clinton.

Mr. Carlson, you provide examples of Ahlquist’s pompous behaviors, campaign strategies and his deep pockets. Sounds similar to Trump. I guess you better hope the Idaho voter who elected Trump stays home.
