| December 3, 2017 12:00 AM

SIDNEY, Mont. — Ridge Lovett (126 pounds) and Braydon Huber (160) won individual titles for the Post Falls wrestling team to capture the Sidney Invitational championship on Saturday for the second time in three years.

Post Falls outscored Columbia High of Nampa 186-170 for the team title. On Friday, Post Falls beat Lake Stevens (Wash.) in the championship dual to win a separate duals tournament.

“They did really well all weekend,” said Post Falls coach Pete Reardon of Lovett and Huber, who went unbeaten in the duals tournament on Friday and individual tournament on Saturday. “Ridge was very dominant this weekend and it was pretty awesome to see. Braydon’s final match was back and forth and kind of crazy, but he did a great job all weekend as well.”

Coleton Kazmierczak finished second at 170 and Lane Reardon (103) and Jordan Grimm (120) finished third for Post Falls, which hosts Hermiston on Friday at The Arena.

“What I liked was, we were aggressive,” Coeur d’Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. “We came out aggressive and tried to get the first takedown in each match.”

Priest River, also scheduled to wrestle the Vikings, pulled out.

Coeur d’Alene competes at the Inland Empire Classic on Friday and Saturday at Central Valley.

Hess second

at Owen Invitational

POLSON, Mont. — Lake City sophomore Caden Hess was the top local finisher, finishing second at 103 pounds in the Owen Invitational at Polson High.

Hess lost in the championship match by a 9-2 decision to Eli Warner of Frenchtown.

Zane Monaghan finished fourth at 170.

“Caden really controlled his matches,” Lake City coach Corey Owen said. “Last year, he wrestled at 90 pounds and didn’t have much of a chance because of his size. This weekend, he showed what he was capable of. We just made a lot of mistakes. The kids competed hard, but we’re making a lot of mistakes being out of position. They’re young and eager to learn, and we’ll get better from this.”

Lake City finished 10th in the 18-team tournament with 60 points. Sentinel High of Missoula won the team title with 193 points.
