The report of a suspicious person wandering in yards along 12th Avenue in Post Falls turned into a foot-chase this afternoon. It ended with police using a stun gun to subdue the man before arresting him.

Post Falls Police Department personnel said the suspect, Brandon F. Ross, 29, was wanted on multiple warrants for arrest.

The half-hour chase ended in a field on the north side of 16th Avenue, across from the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints.

Capt. Greg McLean said, before Ross was subdued with the Taser the man held a pocketknife to his throat. Ross appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, McLean said.

Ross was transported to Kootenai Health for a medical evaluation before being booked into Kootenai County Jail.
