SANDPOINT — Amanda Rouse hurled a three-hit gem in the opener, striking out 13 and propelling Post Falls to a sweep of Sandpoint in a nonleague softball doubleheader at Sandpoint Middle School.

The Trojans (7-7) managed just three hits in the opener, but the Bulldogs (3-3) could not get many good cuts on Rouse and committed seven errors in the field, hurting a solid pitching performance from Bri Baldree in the 6-0 loss.

“Bri came in with the bases loaded and shut them down,” said Bulldogs head coach Elizabeth Hawkins-Williams, who was forced to play a lot of girls out of position. “We were aggressive on the bases, and I was very happy with all four girls who pitched.”

Dinah Seymour ripped a home run and double among her three hits and Brooke Bowers added her second two-bagger in the second game, and the Trojans put up three crooked numbers in a 12-1 win that was called after five innings. Alexis Demute picked up the win.

Bri Barlow was a bright spot for the Bulldogs in the loss, lacing a double among her two hits.
