Coeur d’Alene School District Superintendent Matt Handelman has resigned.

Following a 30-minute, special meeting of the Coeur d’Alene School District Board of Trustees Friday, trustees unanimously accepted Handelman’s resignation.

During the meeting - held behind closed doors, in an executive session - the trustees agreed Handelman’s last day of work for the school district will be June 30.

Handelman was hired by Coeur d’Alene public schools in 2010 to serve as associate superintendent. He became superintendent in 2013.
