Utt released from custody

SANDPOINT — Nathan Utt has been released from Bonner County Jail after first-degree murder charges were dropped Tuesday.

Nathan Lane Utt, 41, was arrested early Saturday morning at a Spokane train station after the April 5 death of the former Hope city clerk Shirley Ann Ramey.

Ramey was found unresponsive by her husband at their Trestle Creek Road home around 5 p.m. Wednesday. Her cause of death has not been officially released, although cached versions of Bonner County dispatch records indicate she had been shot to death.
