POLICE: Show some respect

In regard to the letter “Police grab a shovel” by the Liningers on March 31, why is it so negative? Could you not get your idea over with a non-negative way? We are just people, and we’re prone to open our mouths before we edit our thoughts and your letter is shameful. Bashing our police officers was uncalled for. If you had to ride with them on their shifts, perhaps you’d change your minds — well, maybe. We have no idea what they face every day to protect us.

That attitude is seen every day in the news and all it does is make us angry. It doesn’t solve anything! I’ve re-written my response and edited it five times and I’m done! Hopefully this gets people to think before they go on a rant.
