William Jacobs Brodin ‘Billy,’ 76

William Jacobs Brodin “Billy” passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Bristol Heights Assisted Living in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, his place of residence since October 2015.

Billy was born at Coulee Dam (Mason City), Wash., on Aug. 16, 1940, to Bill and Edabelle Brodin. The family moved to Lewiston, Idaho, in 1948. His parents preceded him in death.

Billy is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Virginia (Ginger) and Kenneth Wright; and nephews Kody and Clark Wright and their families from the Coeur d’Alene/Post Falls, Idaho, area; as well as many cousins and friends scattered across the USA.

Billy served his country in the U.S. Army from 1959-1961. He was stationed in Fort Monmouth, N.J., and Germany working in the field of Allied Communications.

Though Billy battled paranoia/schizophrenia and the traumatic loss of a leg early in his life, he remained interested in electronics, electricity, telecommunications and designing energy-producing devices which could efficiently “run the world.”

Billy will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of electronic “gadgets” and his endless attempt to enlist the financial backing for his “energy ideas.”

Remembrances can be made in his name to www.dav.org (Disabled American Veterans).

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care and final arrangements. Please visit Billy’s online memorial and sign his guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
