BROWNINGS: A fond farewell

| September 30, 2016 9:00 PM

To our friends and neighbors at North Idaho College, the greater Coeur d’Alene area and beyond:

Thank you.

Your genuine welcoming spirit, your kindness and gestures of support over these past years will stay with us as a family forever. We were made to immediately feel a part of this community from the moment we arrived in January 2012. It is said that “home is where your heart is.” In that light, Coeur d’Alene and North Idaho will always be home for us.

To our friends and colleagues at North Idaho College: You are engaged in a most important and worthy endeavor. The work of providing opportunity for anyone who comes and applies themselves, to set a course in their life which will yield promise and a future, is worthy of all our time and effort needed to do such. The work is bigger than any one of us individually. Our on-campus motto is “I’m In!” It’s representative of our individual and collective commitment to students, each other and the communities in which we live. Be In! Be All In because it matters.

Finally, a thank you to each of you that have made our near five years here a time we will never forget. We may not have even formally met, but your smile or act of kindness such as holding a door open as we entered the grocery store, cheering our son in game at Woodland or Lake City — you’ve left us with an invaluable gift; that of gratitude and appreciation for a wonderful place and people.
