Now for the Tidbits

- Last weekend I was able to be in the press box for the Mariners’ losing games in Seattle. By the end of the second inning I had grabbed all four foul balls that came into the press box in the first game. Employees gave me certificates of authenticity, and I bought clear plastic boxes for each one — great gifts for my for grandkids. An office employee told me 100 to 120 balls are used per game. Watch www.mariners.com for ticket specials. Tickets for the Friday night game were as low as $8 as the M’s had won eight straight games. And you can take the light-rail train to the stadium to avoid huge car-parking prices.

- A major development called The Crossroads is proposed for Athol. Watch for details.

- Watch for an office of Waddell & Reed at 320 E. Neider, Advanced Body Parts, The Beauty Lounge and Prana Juice Bar on Sunset Ave., Sweet Lou’s Restaurant and Tap House in the Parkside building on Front Ave., Grabbagreen at Highway 95-Neider and the gas station-convenience store in the southwest corner of Highway 95 and Lancaster.

- On Sherman Avenue watch for Rustic Restaurant at 309 Sherman (next to Clark’s Jewelry), Community First Bank at 504 Sherman, STCU at 401 Front and a Starbucks where the gas-convenience store is at Sherman and Seventh.

- We also have Advanced Health Care and Schini Family Dentistry building new places in Riverstone and Sweeto Burrito building near Winco and Maximus Inc. on Mineral Drive.

- New places in Post Falls will be Jimmy John’s, PQH Wireless, Corby’s Tavern where the Good Time Tav was at Seltice and Elm, Popeyes, Green & Grounds Coffee Shop, Cricket Wireless, Silverlake Automotive, The Lean Bean and Dutch Bros. Coffee.

- Places evidently coming to the revised Post Falls Outlet Mall include 59:Escape Adventures, Ace Industrial Supply, SNR Costume Rental, Black-Ops Self Defense, My Big Fat Greek Deli, a comic book store and a coffee espresso store.

- New Definition: Arbitrators — Employees who leave Arby’s to work for McDonald’s.

- A historic event is an important occurrence that stands out in history. Any past occurrence is a historical event.
