Patty Duke's Cd'A home for sale

There is a celebrity home for sale in Coeur d’Alene.

The house, in Coeur d’Alene’s Best Hills Meadows neighborhood, is where Anna Pearce, known to the world as Patty Duke, lived until her death in March.

Pearce’s husband, Mike Pearce, has put the 2,973-square-foot, five-bedroom, three-bathroom home on the market for $398,000.

“She put her touches on the house … and made it hers,” said Pearce, in a story published this week by realtor.com. “She made it the home that it was for us and our son.”

The Oscar-winning actress lived with her family on an 80-acre ranch until about 13 years ago, when son Kevin reached high school age. At that time, the family decided to sell the ranch and move into the home in town.

The house looks smaller from the front than it actually is inside, noted Pearce. It includes a family room, two bedrooms with bathrooms, and a master bathroom with a jetted tub, among other amenities. The family also installed heating in the garage, a welcome touch on cold winter mornings, Pearce said.

The tranquility of the Best Hills Meadows neighborhood was a big draw, Pearce told realtor.com.

“The neighbors are so friendly, and everyone is nice and helpful and caring. They’re just down-to-earth and great,” he said. He and his wife redecorated roughly two years ago, adding new carpet and painting every room. The couple hosted many parties in the home, with guests including actor Sean Astin, who is Duke’s son.

The home came with granite countertops, thanks to a previous owner who owned a stone company, said listing agent John T. Gibson, who is also Duke’s son-in-law. He’s co-listing the home with agent Dan Hughson.

Mike Pearce told realtor.com the backyard “was pretty generic” when the family moved in, but they added trees, shrubbery, flowers, and other touches over the years.

“We made it so when you sit outside in the back, it’s like you’re in the country. It gives you a feeling that you’re not close to town at all,” Pearce said.
