Coeur d’Alene Sting Timbers ’04 girls Red: The Sting won 6-0 over the North Central FC girls ’04 team on Saturday in their PSPL opener at the Okanogan Sports Complex in Omak, Wash. Sting goals were scored by Isabella Lucky (2), Molly Foster (2), Ellie Morrisroe and Madison Quigley. Danika Nowak had the shutout in goal for the Sting.

North Idaho Inferno ’08 girls Sater: The Inferno took third place out of seven teams last weekend at the Pend Oreille Cup in Sandpoint.

The Inferno beat the Coeur d’Alene Sting 8-0 on Saturday morning. Isabelle Sater scored four goals, Addyson Chase two, Anabelle Tucker one.

Later Saturday, Inferno lost to eventual champion Washington East 7-1 with Isabelle Sater scoring the lone goal.

On Sunday the Inferno beat Sandpoint Strikers White 4-0. Addyson Chase scored two goals and Isabelle Sater also added two goals.

In the consolidation round for third place the Inferno beat the Coeur d’Alene Sting Green team 7-1. Isabelle Sater scored four goals, Elena Nilson two, Addyson Chase one.

Sting Timbers U11 boys yellow: The Sting won their division at last weekend’s Pend Oreille Cup in Sandpoint.

The Sting Timbers Yellow tied Moscow United 3-3 on Saturday morning. Jacob Molina scored two goals and Ronan Sternberg scored one. Saturday evening the Sting Timbers Yellow defeated the Spokane Breakers 3-1. Ari Rumpler scored two goals and Jacob Molina scored one. Rafael Rubio was the goalkeeper.

On Sunday, the Sting Timbers Yellow won their morning semifinal match against the Spokane Sounders 2-1. Goals were scored by Gavin Samayoa and Jacob Molina. Rafael Rubio was the goalkeeper.

In the championship match, the Sting Timbers Yellow bested Inferno Orange 4-1. Kai Delio, Ronan Sternberg and Landon Miller each scored a goal for the Sting. Rafael Rubio was the goalkeeper.

North Idaho Inferno boys ’02 orange team: The Inferno tied KVJSA Ellensburg on Sunday in PSPL Classic Premier League play. Alex Lycan scored for the Inferno, assisted by Brayson Harrington.

Inferno Blue ’02 Rojas: The Inferno defeated the ASE Royals from Kennewick 3-1 on Saturday. Braden Munson scored two goals, Michael Simpson one for the Inferno.

Inferno U14 boys (Johnson): the Inferno went 1-1-1 at the Pend Oreille Cup last weekend in Sandpoint.

In the first game the Inferno beat the Sting Timbers 4-3. Roman Smith scored two goals, Alex Peters and Caleb Calkins one each.

The Inferno tied the Breakers 1-1, with Caleb Calkins scoring for the Inferno.

On Sunday the Inferno lost 6-4 to the Missoula Strikers. Jack Halloway scored a hat trick, and Matt McLeod scored one goal.

Sting Timbers ’07 girls: The Sting went 2-2 at the Pend Oreille Cup last weekend in Sandpoint.

In game 1 Lydia Lehosit scored one goal for the Sting.

In game 2 Lydia Lehosit scored 1 goal and had 2 assists, Annabelle Rogers scored 2 goals, Natalie Thompson scored 2 goals and had 1 assist, Paige Hunt scored a hat trick and had 2 assists, Rachel Corette scored 2 goals, Hannah Coyne scored 2 goals, and Sofia Peressini scored 2 goals in the 14-0 win.

Game 4 had goals scored by Annabelle Rogers, Paloma Armitage with an assist from Paige Hunt, and a third goal scored by Rachelle Corette.

Inferno U11 boys: The Inferno finished second in their division in the Pend Oreille Cup last weekend in Sandpoint. Goalkeeper Benjamin Deming had 22 saves including two clean sheets over the four-game weekend. James Waters led the team with 4 goals, Tyson Engelson and Connor Carmignani each scored 2 goals and Gabe Jones scored 1 goal.

Sting Timbers ’06 boys Green: The Sting went undefeated at last weekend’s Pend Oreille Cup tournament in Sandpoint.

In their first game, the Sting Timbers beat Sandpoint Strikers Dooley 10-0. Connor Jump led the Sting Timbers with 3 goals and 3 assists. Haidyn Jonas also had 3 goals. Isaiah Baker had 1 goal and 1 assist. Ethan Hickok, Owen Hickok and Kason Pintler each added 1 goal. Ben Hannigan-Luther and Max Entzi each had 1 assist. Parker Anderson and Ethan Hickok teamed in goal for the shutout.

In their Saturday afternoon match, the Sting Timbers beat the Sandpoint Strikers Schmidt 4-1. Haidyn Jonas led the Sting Timbers with 2 goals. Connor Jump had 1 goal and 1 assist. Kason Pintler added 1 goal.

On Sunday morning, the Sting Timbers won their third bracket game against the Flathead (Mont.) Force U10 5-1. Haidyn Jonas led the Sting Timbers with 2 goals and 1 assist. Kason Pintler had 2 goals. Isaiah Baker had 1 goal. Connor Jump had 1 assist.

In the championship match, the Sting bested the Flathead Force 6-2. Connor Jump led the Sting Timbers with 3 goals and 1 assist. Haidyn Jonas had 1 goal and 2 assists. On Sunday the Sting beat the FC-Breakers White 6-0 on goals by Paisley Goings, Hadley Green, Sienna Grant, Lucy Simpson and Kelsey Carroll.

In the championship game the Sting lost 4-1 to the Spokane Sounders North. Kaylie Smart scored for the Sting Timbers.

Chargers 31, Jaguars 6: Brodie Beebe, Hudson Howard and Steven Burgess each rushed for touchdowns, and Brodie Beebe threw TD passes to Kolton Mitchell and Steven Burgess. The Chargers also got interceptions from Brodie Wadell and Varick Meredith.

Tryouts set: The Post Falls Baseball Club is offering open tryouts Sunday at Chase Fields, 410 W. 21st Ave. in Post Falls.

Tryouts for the 10-and-under team (age 9-10) are at 10 a.m.; 11U tryouts (age 10-11) are at 11 a.m.; 12U tryouts (age 11-12) are at 1 p.m., and 14U tryouts (cannot turn 15 before April 1, 2017) are at 2:30.

All returning players except for 13Us must attend tryouts. Players are asked to bring cleats, baseball gear and a water bottle.

Youth basketball: Registration for grades K-4 is scheduled from Sept. 19 to Oct. 7.

Signup fees for kindergartners and first-graders (coed leagues) is $16 for Rathdrum residents, $21 for non-residents.

For grades 2-4, fees are $18 for Rathdrum residents, $23 for non-residents.

Second-graders play in a coed 3-on-3 league; boys and girls 5-on-5 leagues are offered for grades 3 and 4.
