PREP CROSS COUNTRY: Viking boys third, Chang sixth at Farragut Invitational

ATHOL — The Coeur d’Alene boys had four of their top five boys finish in the Top 20 on the way to a third place finish in the Timberlake Farragut Invitational on Saturday at Farragut State Park’s Scott Field.

Coeur d’Alene Charter senior Landon Chang was the top local boys finisher, coming in sixth in 16 minutes, 29.2 seconds.

Sandpoint’s Finan Lund-Anderson was ninth in 16:52.3, helping the Bulldogs to a fifth place finish.

Coeur d’Alene senior Caitlin Conway was sixth in the girls race in 19:58.4, helping the Vikings finish fourth. Sandpoint was fifth and Timberlake sixth in the girls team standings.

Boise schools Borah (boys) and Capital (girls) won team titles.

Austin Byrer of Lewiston won the boys race in 15:55.5 and Moscow’s Katherine Ruck won the girls race in 18:39.9.
