Now for the Tidbits

- Watch for major changes on 43 acres in the northeast corner of Highways 95 and 54 in Athol. Possibilities include a major grocery store, bank, pharmacy and motel.

- Yoke’s Fresh Market this week replaces Trading Co. Food & Drug at 1501 E. Seltice, Post Falls. The 90-employee-owned store started with its “fresh products” in 1946 and has several stores in Eastern Washington, Sandpoint and Kellogg. Hours are 6 a.m. to midnight. Check www.yokesfreshmarkets.com.

- Freedom Burrito has closed at Highway 95 and Cherry Ave.

- The Painter’s Chair Gallery is closing at the end of the month after 14 years with Stephen and Cathy Shortridge at 223 Sherman Ave. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Phone 667-3606. Check www.painterschairfineart.com.

- This is the 15th anniversary of the attack at New York’s World Trade Center. I remember I went to get our newspaper from its tube at 6:30 a.m. and neighbor Mike from across the street said simply, “Go turn on your TV.” I did just in time to see the second jet hit the place. A sad memory.

- Watch for The Beauty Lounge and Prana Juice Bar on Sunset Avenue, Hart Capital in the McEuen Terrace building and Sweet Lou’s Restaurant and Tap House in the Parkside building on Front Avenue, a Verizon store at Appleway-Fourth, Grabbagreen at Highway 95-Neider, Hayden Medical Plaza & Clinics in Hayden and the gas station-convenience store in the southwest corner of Highway 95 and Lancaster.

- On Sherman Avenue watch for Baked-In Rustic restaurant at 309 Sherman (next to Clark’s Jewelry), Mountain Madness Soap at 310 Sherman (the former Everson Jewelry building), Community First Bank at 504 Sherman and a Starbucks where the gas-convenience store is at Sherman and Seventh.

- We also have Schini Family Dentistry building a new place in Riverstone and Sweeto Burrito near Winco. New places in Post Falls will be Corby’s Tavern where the Good Time Tav was at Seltice and Elm, Popeyes, Green & Grounds Coffee Shop, Cricket Wireless, Silverlake Automotive, The Lean Bean and Dutch Bros. Coffee.

- Places evidently coming to the revised Post Falls Outlet Mall include 59:Escape Adventures, Ace Industrial Supply, SNR Costume Rental, Black-Ops Self Defense, My Big Fat Greek Deli, a comic book store and a coffee espresso store.

- On TV’s “Jeopardy,” when printing the categories, they always put the comma after the second quote mark. Nope. It goes before it.
