Six errors doom Indians in playoff opener

SPOKANE — The host Spokane Indians committed six errors, allowing five unearned runs to score in an 8-5 loss to the Everett AquaSox in the first game of their best-of-3 game Northwest League baseball playoff series in front of 2,269 at Avista Stadium on Thursday.

Charles Leblanc hit a three-run home run to cut the deficit to 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning for Spokane, which left 11 runners on base.

Bryson Brigman went 2 for 4 with two runs batted in for Everett.

Game 2 is tonight at 7:15 at Safeco Field in Seattle, with an if-necessary game on Saturday in Everett at 7:05.
