Weather changing in a big way

Winter is coming. Not really, but the rains are. Local meteorologist Randy Mann said the weather is changing in a big way this weekend and into next week.

It’s supposed to be pretty rainy today with spotted showers through the rest of the weekend. Mann said Saturday should be pretty dry with most of the moisture being released in the mountains to the north.

Rain showers will resume Sunday evening and carry into Monday.

“So Saturday, Sunday, Monday it’s kind of hit and miss,” Mann said. “If you’re having a barbecue you might have some showers over you in one place, and not in another.”

Mann said he uses overall weather patterns and lunar cycles to predict weather. After the rains this weekend and early next week, Mann said the weather should clear up and get warm again.

“If you’re looking for the 90-degree temperatures, I think we’re pretty much done with those,” he said. “But I still see some warm weather coming in this following week. Maybe we’ll get into 80s and then we’ll get some more showers on the other side in the later part of the month.”

Looking ahead, Mann said early October is expected to bring more rains and mid-November is when the weather will bring a lot of moisture, in the form of either rain or snow.

“I think early October we’ll get a bit of rain, but once you get into mid November, it’s going to get real active, a lot more moisture,” Mann said.
