ELECTION: It's about 'us'

| October 26, 2016 9:00 PM

We live in an “It’s all about me culture!” Unfortunately, too many voters view the upcoming presidential election in the context of “It’s all about me” and which party or candidate will give me the most freebies, or which candidate do I like or dislike the most. Too bad our self-absorbed culture can’t see beyond the candidates and look at what effect the next president will have on our nation.

The way we choose who we will vote for should not be made on personality, but on what the plans their political party have for the nation. Do we want a president who will choose federal judges that will legislate from the bench or defend our Constitutional liberties? Do we want progressive liberal justices on the Supreme Court that will render decisions affecting our children, grandchildren and beyond? Do we want to maintain the free enterprise economic system that made our nation the wealthiest free society in the world or do we want the Orwellian socialism that the lunatic left envisions?

Please look at the big picture, read the party platforms before you vote. After all, this election is more than being “It’s all about me!”
