Jerline 'Jeri' Gross, 90

Jerline “Jeri” Gross was born in Tifton, Ga., on March 18, 1926, to Ernest and Bertha Croft. She lived in Raymond, Wash., for many years, moving to Battle Ground, Wash., in 1963 and Hayden, Idaho, in 2000. She entered Heaven’s gates on Oct. 20, 2016.

A mother and homemaker, Jeri loved to host family and church events, holiday celebrations, showers, youth group activities. Jeri was an excellent cook whether she was cooking for two or 20. She was an avid reader and an expert quilter. She also loved to crochet, embroider and sew. In her later years, she became an enthusiastic Seahawks fan.

Jeri had an unwavering faith in God. She attended Landmark Church in Battle Ground for about 35 years. When she moved to Hayden, she attended Lifeway Chapel in Post Falls.

Jeri was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Charles (Chuck) Gross. She was also preceded in death by her son, James Gross; her grandson, Gordon Gross; and her three sisters, Lena, Pauline and Sybil. Jeri is survived by her children, Patty Morris (Tom), Ron Gross (Deborah), Becky Hill (Barney) and Rob Gross (Brenda); and daughter-in-law Linda Gross. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; and many, many friends and relatives who loved her dearly.

A graveside service celebrating her life will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore. Viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at Yates Funeral Home, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jerline Gross can be made to Hospice House of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.
