Mary Ann Olson, 75

God took Mary Ann Olson, 75, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, home on Oct. 1, 2016.

She was born to Frederick and Anna (McCarthy) Coe on Jan. 2, 1941, in Plummer, Idaho. Mary grew up in Plummer where she graduated from Plummer High School.

She married her high school sweetheart, Roger Olson, in 1960. They moved to Coeur d’Alene and started their family of four children before moving to Post Falls in 1969. Mary moved back to Coeur d’Alene in 1983 where she worked and retired as a baker at Albertsons supermarket.

Mary was an avid reader and a dedicated sports fan intently following Gonzaga basketball, the Seahawks and Mariners. She enjoyed nothing more than following her grandkids and their various activities. She also enjoyed regular outings with many valued friends. Mary was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Anna Coe; her stepfather, Walter Hirschel; her husband, Roger Olson; her sister, Shirley Nelson and infant brother, William.

Mary is survived by sister Wanda (Terry) Fuchs; sons Darren (Lisa) Olson and Mark (Rachel) Olson; daughters Teresa Mastin and Diane (Jon) Mitchell; grandchildren Shane Olson, Amanda Grossman, Tyler (Marnie) Olson and Emily Olson, William Mize V, Angela Provost and John Mastin, and Quinn and Jack Mitchell; and great-grandchildren William O. Mize VI, Scarlett M. Mize and Victoria Provost. She is also survived by a long list of nieces and nephews and special friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
