Wile drops out of trustee race

| October 4, 2016 9:00 PM

Geri Wile of Post Falls, a candidate for the North Idaho College Board of Trustees Zone 5, has withdrawn from the race. She was set to run against newly appointed Trustee Brad Murray, of Rathdrum.

She told The Press she had to drop out of the race for health reasons. When she called the Kootenai County elections office Monday morning, she was told she cannot officially drop out of the race because the deadline was Sept. 23.

Her name will remain on the ballot — however, Wile said she will no longer be campaigning and will not participate in any events leading up to the election in November.

“I’m sorry I can’t go through with it,” she said. “But I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do.”
