PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: Schlader lead Royals past Wampus Cats
CLARK FORK — Mary Schlader led North Idaho Christian with 12 points, as its size wore Clark Fork (0-2) down in the second half on Monday night for a 42-38 win over the Wampus Cats in North Star League play.
“They got to the free throw line more than we did in the fourth quarter. We had trouble handling their big girls inside,” said Cats head coach Mark Stevens, lauding the play of Brooke Stevens in defeat. “She was very aggressive, pushed it to the basket and looked for her shot.”
Clark Fork’s Stevens posted 22 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists.
Tessa Sutton added six points and 12 boards for the Cats, who led by one at half in a game that was tight for much of the night.
Kaylee Prosch added nine points for North Idaho Christian (2-1), which faces Pullman Christian at the HUB on Thursday at 5.
