Red Hot Mamas performance to help Christmas for All

The always surprising Red Hot Mamas will kick off their Christmas season of community service Saturday afternoon with a 45-minute comedy production to benefit Press Christmas for All.
Anyone who has enjoyed Ebeneezer Scrooge in the classic “A Christmas Carol” is sure to delight in the antics of Eviegeezer Rude in this musical-comedy adaptation: “A Red Hot Mamas’ Christmas Carol.”
Admission is a donation of any size (suggested $5), which goes in its entirety to Press Christmas for All and includes cookies with cocoa, coffee, or tea.
Tickets at the door only. Seating at 12:30 with show time at 1.
This family-oriented original play is hosted by The Garden Plaza, 545 N. Garden Plaza Court, Post Falls.
Eviegeezer Rude, played by Karen Welts, is visited by her departed business partner, Jackie Marley, played by Sarah Parshall, as well as the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future as she transforms from a grouchy miser into a joyous philanthropist.
The show features dancing, singing, and carrying on to favorite tunes such as: “I Want a Pink Flamingo for Christmas,” “They’re Gonna Put Me in a Christmas Movie,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “I’ll Be Home with Bells On,” “I’m Getting Nuttin’ for Christmas,” and “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” as well as unique versions of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” and “There’s a Hole in my Stocking.” Jubilant audience singalongs are led by a roly-poly pack of Santa’s elves. A cast of 22 energetic gals in sparkling costumes and creative props plan to bring joy to all.
“We have wanted to do this for the community Christmas for All for years and haven’t been able to find a facility partner. This year, the Garden Plaza embraced the whole idea of partnering with us to help out. All the Mamas are bubbling with excitement over this show,” said production assistant Deborah Miranda.
The Mamas are taking this show on the road to Dallas for their Children’s Health fundraiser and a Senior Communities Outreach the following week.
They will host a second fundraiser for Press Christmas for All on Dec. 11 from 2-5 p.m. at Paint Buzz in Riverstone, 2145 N. Main St., Coeur d’Alene. Those who attend this Christmas painting party will paint an original Christmas design while sipping wine and nibbling holiday treats as they frolic with the Mamas. The cost of $39.99 includes silent auction, framed canvas, paints, brushes, apron, and step-by-step instruction to complete an original Christmas design painting to take home.
