Coeur d'Alene Nazarene hires new senior pastor

| November 24, 2016 8:00 PM

The Coeur d’Alene Church of the Nazarene announced Rev. Mark A. McWhorter has been hired to serve as the church’s new senior pastor.

McWhorter, his wife Tina, and their two sons live in nearby Hayden.

McWhorter was ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 2006 after completing the required ordination coursework through Northwest Nazarene University, located in Nampa, Idaho.

McWhorter was previously on staff at the CDA Nazarene church from 1999 through 2006 in the roles of youth pastor and associate pastor. He left the church in 2006 to serve in his first senior pastor role at the Post Falls Church of the Nazarene where he served until October 2016.

“Our family is excited, grateful and blessed to return to the Coeur d’Alene Church of the Nazarene to minister alongside this great congregation,” McWhorter said, in a press release. “It is a kind of homecoming for us having been on staff a decade ago. We look forward to sharing the love of God in our community and help to fulfill our church’s mission to make Christlike disciples in the nations.”

The church would like to extend an invitation to the public to join them for McWhorter’s installation service on Sunday, Nov. 27, during the 9:30 a.m. worship service. The Coeur d’Alene Church of the Nazarene is located at 4000 N. Fourth St.

The Church of the Nazarene has been part of Coeur d’Alene since 1941. Since that time the church has met in two locations in town.
