The USATF Region 13 qualifying race was held on Nov. 19 in West Linn, Ore. National qualifiers from North Idaho include two teams of 9-10 year-old boys and girls as well as runners ages 7-16. The team has qualified runners for the national championship every year since its founding 11 years ago. North Idaho XC is comprised of elite runners ages 7 to 16 from Sandpoint, Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, Post Falls and Liberty Lake. <p>Courtesy photo</p><p>Travis Kaufman recently bowled a 700 series in youth play at Sunset Bowling Center. Kaufman, who has been bowling since he was 10, he has a 206 average. He placed second at the high school state tournament last year. He has been the anchor for the Lake City high school team since he was a freshman.</p>

WRESTLING

Team Real Life wrestlers were among more than 950 wrestlers to compete in the USA Wrestling Tour of America/Bigfoot Battle in Spokane this past Saturday.

In this tournament, new wrestlers with less than two years of experience can compete in special True Beginner brackets with other new wrestlers. TRL wrestlers that placed in the True Beginner brackets were: Noah Shore, 1st; Catlin Jacobs, 1st; Lennox Nilson, 2nd; Lachlann Nilson, 2nd; Evan Randall, 3rd; Parker Stearns, 3rd and Cayden Knight, 3rd.

TRL wrestlers placing in the open brackets were: Connor Larson, 1st; Matthew Hamilton, 2nd; Rider Seguine, 3rd; Damian Hamilton, 3rd; Jaden Robb, 3rd; Isaac Jessen, 4th; Kendall Sage, 4th; Dominic Lari, 5th and Colton Austin, 6th.

Members of the Post Falls Wrestling Club competed in Spokane this past Saturday in the Northwest Bigfoot Battle which is part of USA Wrestling’s Tour of America wrestling series. Over 950 wrestlers competed at the Convention Center in downtown.

PFWC members who placed were: Paxton Purcell, 1st; Tysen Pulczinski, 2nd and John Rudebaugh, 3rd.

Also placing in the True Beginner classes were: Ryker Allen, 1st; Andy Wallace, 1st; Reise Reardon, 2nd; Kyle Washburn, 2nd; Amanda Wirig, 2nd; Trey Smith, 2nd; Ashton Campbell, 3rd and Bodee McSpadden, 3rd.

The True Beginner classes are for wrestlers with less than two years of experience and allow for new wrestlers to compete on a more equal footing.
