POST FALLS — The Post Falls Rotary Club is partnering with the Community Library Network to bring one of Post Falls Library’s meeting rooms into the 21st Century.

The club has earmarked $5,000 for the project.

Working with the design developed earlier this year as part of the proposed levy-remodeling plan, the Freeman Duncan Discussion Room will soon be turned into a high-tech meeting room.

A flat screen monitor will be wall-mounted to connect with individual laptops and devices to facilitate learning. A modern color-pallet will complement new furniture that can be reconfigured for multiple purposes. The addition of new window coverings and flooring will complete the look.

The total project is estimated to be $7,500. The Post Falls Library Foundation has expressed interest in joining the effort to raise funds for the balance of the costs. Remodeling plans will be submitted to the city for approval early next year.

Another construction project at the Post Falls Library will take place behind the scenes in December. Staff areas used for processing books and technical equipment will be transformed to allow efficiency while creating new space for the district’s administration staff.

The library network board last month approved capital improvement funds to pick up the $53,000 construction tab.

The construction is expected to take 60 days. During that time the library will be open. The public computer room will not be accessible, but terminals will be moved into public areas to accommodate users.
