SPIRIT LAKE — It was the difference between one and none in the 2015-16 season for the Timberlake Tigers after winning a state 3A championship.

They made up for it a little bit on Saturday.

Allison Kirby scored 19 points to eclipse the 1,000-point mark and Shelby Starr added 15 points as the Timberlake Tigers beat the Lewiston Bengals 69-63 in overtime on Saturday, avenging the team’s lone loss from last year’s 23-1 season.

Jacquelyn Mallet scored 13 points and Lilly Kelley 11 for Timberlake (4-0), which has won 27 straight games.

“It was a big win,” Timberlake coach Matt Miller said. “When you’re playing against a team that can score like Lewiston, we balanced it really well. It’s big for us and makes us harder to guard.”

Lewiston rallied from 12 points down to force overtime as Abbey Roy hit four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, scoring 16 of her 18 points in the fourth and overtime.

“We just stayed on the attack,” Miller said. “They scored first in overtime, but we were really aggressive in the fourth quarter, which was nice to see.”

Timberlake (4-0) travels to Post Falls on Nov. 29.

Roy and Alyssa Ralstin had 18 points each for Lewiston (1-1).
