COEUR d’ALENE — Kyle Eugene Goddard pleaded guilty Wednesday to theft of firearms from a licensed dealer’s inventory and possession of stolen firearms, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced.

According to Goddard’s admissions at a plea hearing on July 23, he stole two firearms — a Taurus 709 Slim 9mm and a Springfield Armory XD 40 — from Bargain Barn in Plummer, Idaho.

The charges of possession of stolen firearm and theft of firearms from a licensed dealer’s inventory are each punishable by up to 10 years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release.

Sentencing is set for the 28-year-old Plummer resident March 7, 2017, before Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill at the federal courthouse in Coeur d'Alene.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police; and the FBI.
