VETERANS: A grandson's thanks

Editor’s note: The following letter was sent to Coeur d’Alene’s Dick Gardner from his grandson for Veterans Day.

This is for you, Grandpa:

Thank you for your service and your dedication to this great country. Your sacrifices and time away from home were made worth it when you stepped off that ship and back on the United States. I appreciate everything you did so I can still wake up in a free country. Thank you.
