PRESS: Patricks divisive duo

| November 16, 2016 8:00 PM

Thank you Carrie Graves and Vonda Kerr! Carrie, your editorial cartoon was the most heartwarming and politically un-biased statement I have ever seen. I believe it depicts how most of America wants to be. Sadly the divisive ones in the past we can thank the Coeur d’Alene Press editor Mike Patrick.

Vonda, you are not alone in your disappointment of the Coeur d’Alene Press in their on-going divisive rhetoric “Red Revolt” caption and picture of Trump. You can complain about the obvious bias and they will print your complaint and continue in their arrogant elitist ways knowing they are the only paper in town. Even Sholeh Patrick who is the editor’s wife posted an article Sept. 20 making a case for how trying to being balanced in journalistic reporting isn’t always good. She said, “Balancing the scales for objective reporting doesn’t always mean giving equal weight to all sides.”

Now Mike, I don’t need your small font rebuttal below; I realize this is out of context so readers, go online and read for yourself; it sure sounds like an intellectual excuse for liberals or conservatives not to try being balanced in order to justify spinning the news and sway opinions. Remember; “Red Revolt.” Tell me Mike and Sholeh Patrick; was that fair or balanced or was it more subtle manipulation, creating unfounded fear and concern? You obviously haven’t heard; the country is fed up with the superior minded elite. Let’s learn from Carrie Graves. Thanks Carrie for a heartwarming beautiful statement.
