PREP CROSS COUNTRY: Shanahan 28th at Nike Northwest Regionals

EAGLE — Sydney Shanahan, a freshman from Post Falls High, finished 28th overall in the 5-kilometer Open Invitational as a member of the Post Falls High-based Northwest Premier Running Club at the Nike Northwest Regional cross country meet on Saturday at Eagle Island State Park.

Shanahan finished in 20 minutes, 2.9 seconds. Sandpoint’s Hannah Davidson was 40th in 20:09.3.

Erica Simison won the girls race in 18:47.5.

Bozeman won the girls team title in 126. Northwest Premier finished 16th out of 41 teams.

Sandpoint’s Finan Lund-Andersen was the top local boys finisher in 17:33.1 for the Sandpoint Harriers, a club team comprised of Sandpoint High runners.

Bozeman also swept team titles in the championship flight (elite runners).
