Late autumn paradise at Dover Bay and Marina Town

Sure, summer is great at the Dover Bay waterfront community. But fall is also something to see.

“The leaves have turned and it’s a beautiful time to spend a weekend up here,” said Marie Garvey, director of sales and marketing for Dover Bay.

Bungalow and home rentals are the perfect way to see one of North Idaho’s most beautiful destinations in a whole new color scheme. While you enjoy the autumn landscape, you can check out the communities’ numerous residential options, Garvey said.

One popular segment at Dover Bay is the Marina Town neighborhood, located directly on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille and just steps away from the community’s Marina Village.

The Marina Town neighborhood is a collection of single level, walk-out and upper level options, with 2-4 bedrooms, 2-4 baths and two-car garages. The fully landscaped waterfront homes include a one-year warranty, and residents enjoy a private courtyard and more than 500 feet of private beach and lake frontage.

One move-in ready home is currently available in Marina Town. The two-bedroom, two-bath home includes an open kitchen floor plan with granite countertops, hardwood floors, gas fireplace, large master suite, courtyard and outdoor patio boasting views of Lake Pend Oreille.

“You can walk out directly to the lake,” Garvey said.

The 1,467-square-foot home also includes an extra-large two-car garage. Price is $579,000.

Construction is set to begin on Marina Town’s Building No.6, which will include single-level, townhome-style homes with three bedrooms, two bath and two-car garages. Homes will feature southern exposures with an open floor plan, waterfront views, top-of-the-line finishes, outdoor patio with gas barbeque stub and many more amenities. Pre-construction prices starting at $499,000. Homes can be move-in ready by late spring to early summer.

Homeowners’ Association fees begin at approx. $380/year and includes full lawn and landscape maintenance, exterior building and neighborhood maintenance and snow removal.

Marina Town is just steps away from Dover Bay’s Marina Village, which includes a 274-slip marina, seasonal full-service restaurant (currently closed until spring), market, tennis and volleyball courts and a fitness center featuring an outdoor, year-round, heated swimming pool and spa.

Whether you visit or live permanently in Dover Bay, there are opportunities to enjoy the recreational area 365 days a year. Interest is already growing from skiers to book winter weekends at Dover Bay Resort. The community is just 12 miles from premium skiing at Schweitzer Mountain Resort.

“Staying at Dover Bay proves less expensive than renting something on the mountain,” Garvey said. We have all the amenities… and we are close to the restaurants and shops in Sandpoint.”

Schweitzer is currently on track to open in early December. Dover Bay also has lift ticket and lodging deals available now, and weekly deals are posted at DoverBayBungalows.com.

In total, the Dover Bay Waterfront Community covers 285 acres of forest, lakes and open meadows. The Dover city beach measures 2.6 acres with 3,000 feet of waterfront on two sides. Walking bridges and wildlife viewing areas meander through the community and connect to broader nature preserves in the area.
