St. Maries to face Bear Lake

in state 2A football semis today

The St. Maries Lumberjacks will face the Bear Lake Bears today at 1 p.m. PST at Holt Arena in Pocatello in a semifinal game in the state 2A football playoffs.

St. Maries (10-0) advanced with a 33-14 win over North Fremont at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow on Nov. 5.

Bear Lake (7-2) of Montpelier advanced with a win over New Plymouth at Holt Arena, also on Nov. 5.

The game will be webcast at www.idahosports.com.

Prep girls basketball tips

off tonight at 3A champs

The Timberlake Tigers girls basketball team will open defense of their state 3A championship tonight as they host the Sandpoint Bulldogs in the nonleague opener for both schools in Spirit Lake.

Timberlake beat Marsh Valley in the state title game for its first championship in February at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa. Sandpoint beat Minico in the third-place game in last year’s state 4A tournament at Timberline High in Boise.
