North Idaho Inferno 02 girls: The Inferno beat CYSA 2-1 in Yakima on Saturday.

Kaylee Moate scored the Inferno’s first goal, and its second goal was an own goal following a corner kick by Moate.

On Sunday, the Inferno beat the Wenatchee Vasquez 4-0 in Wenatchee. Sarah Hines scored two goals, Jade Reed and Madison Klundt one each. Camellia Merrill, Kaylee Moate, Lilith Tweedy and Claire Romero each had assists, and Autumn Lambert had one save in posting the shutout in goal.

Inferno 04 boys Briseno: The Inferno beat the IEYSA Storm B04 Prophet 3-0 on Saturday at Post Falls School. Lance Gilmor, Jesse Aparicio and Malachi Hutchens each scored once for the Inferno.

On Sunday, the Inferno beat the IEYSA Scotties B04 Wilmot 5-1 at the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex in Spokane. Evan Brinkmeier, Malachi Hutchens, Lance Gilmor, Kael McGowan and Keith Aparicio each scored once for the Inferno.

Coeur d’Alene Sting Timbers 03 girls: The Sting Timbers beat the Shadow United 03-Denman 11-0 on Saturday. Liz Scarlett, Cailyn Garza and Abbie Lyman scored 2 goals each in the win, and Grace Anderson-Mosher, Alexi Wilson, Madyson Smith, Geneva Bengtson and McKenzie Mattis each scored once. Assists were made by Madison Fain, Alexi Wilson, Geneva Bengtson, Abbie Lyman and Cailyn Garza.

Sting Timbers 05 red boys (Thompson): The Sting Timbers won a pair of games over the weekend at Hayden Meadows.

On Saturday, the Sting Timbers defeated the IEYSA Valor (Pratt) 11-0. Landon Lee scored a hat trick, Blaine Leonard, Cooper Prohaska and Ashton Ukich each scored twice, and Boston Spears and Gavin Schoener both scored once.

Cooper Prohaska and Caden Thompson each had two assists, and Trenton Anderson, Christopher Mongan and Gavin Schoener each had one. Gavin Schoener and Landon Lee teamed for the shutout in goal.

On Sunday, the Sting Timbers beat the IEYSA Scotties (Lake) 5-0, on goals by Christopher Mongan, Landon Lee, Cooper Prohaska, Caden Thompson and Nate Wyatt. Landon Lee had an assist.

Inferno 06 boys: The Inferno lost 8-2 to FC Spokane on Saturday. Luke Heffter and Tyler Engelson each scored for Inferno.

On Sunday, the Inferno lost 5-2 to the Hawks. Jacob Ludwick and Luke Heffter each scored a goal for Inferno.

Sting Timbers FC 03 girls Red: the Sting tied the Sandpoint Strikers FC McLaughlin 1-1 last Wednesday. The Sting Timbers goal was scored by Chloe Biediger. Keeper Lilly Nickel had 4 saves.

On Saturday, the Sting Timbers beat Moscow United SC 02G-Hicke 6-0. Amber Aittama scored a hat trick for the Sting Timbers, Kali McKellips scored two goals, Chloe Biediger one. Isabella Henkle had two assists, Myah Rietze and Bailey Mongan one.

Sting Timbers FC girls 04 Red: The Sting Timbers tied the Inferno Heston G02 squad 2-2 on Saturday at Canfield Middle School. Both Sting Timbers goals were scored by Isabella Lucky. The Sting Timbers then beat the IEYSA Breakers 04 Kalua 2-0 on Sunday at Canfield to clinch the top spot in the PSPL Inland NW Copa league, with one game remaining. Isabella Lucky scored both goals, and Cooper Horton had the shutout as keeper.

Eighth grade

Vikings 30, Spokane Spartans 16: The Vikings defeated the unbeaten Spokane Spartans. Skyler White, his 1st year playing football, had a 55-yard TD run, 1 interception, 2 tackles, and 82 yards rushing for the Vikings. Clay Howard had 1 onside kick catch, Trent Elsted ran back a second-half kickoff 70 yds for a TD, and he also gained 65 yards rushing and 23 yards receiving. Quarterback Jack Prka was 7 of 13 for 123 yards passing, with a 65-yard TD pass and one 6-yard rushing TD, 74 yards total rushing. Dalton Cardinal had a 65-yard receiving TD, 85 receiving yards total. Ty Pottenger had a fumble recovery, two extra point receptions, 2 tackles, 1 knockdown, and 28 yards receiving/rushing. Defensively, linemen Nolan Randle had 5 sacks and 2 tackles for loss, Jackson Kohal 2 sacks, 5 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, Jacob Bishop 2 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, Tanner Payton 4 tackles, Brayeden Booth 2 tackles. Among linebackers, Hudson Gilbert had 1 sack, 6 tackles, 2 extra point kicks, and Mason Cummings had a fumble recovery, 1 tackle for loss, 3 tackles and 2 extra point throws. In the defensive backfield, Dalton Cardinel had 2 tackles, Devin Sonntag 2 tackles, Ray Pettyjohn1 knockdown, and Jack Prka 1 tackle and 2 knockdowns.

WRESTLING

Team Real Life: TRL wrestlers competed in the third North Idaho Wrestling League tournament of the season — the Coeur d’Alene Buzzsaw tournament last Saturday at Coeur d’Alene High School.

Team Real Life champions were: Rider Seguine, Seth Martin, Matthew Hamilton, Jaden Robb, Damion Hamilton, Alex Austin, Michael Stewart, Briley Arnett, Colton Austin, Roddy Romero; Byson Huber, Ayden Washburn and Troy Nash.

Placing second at the tournament were: Austin Schaad, Dominic Lari, Cayden Knight, Brandon Felix and Zachary Henderson.

Rounding out Team Real Life placers in third place were: Sawyer Sage, Jacob Kunzi, Brandon Gallegos, Johnathan Hansen, Noah Shore and Josh Cummings.
