MILAN: She builds bridges
Kristi Milan will be a welcomed breath of fresh air to the Idaho Senate, running for State Senate Dist. 4. She continues to step up in big ways to share her unique set of honed leadership skills. Kristi has already had proven successful solutions within our regional community.
In September, Kristi volunteered to “Captain” her own family pontoon to provide multiple floating seminars for Lake Coeur d’Alene Waterkeepers’ Program (Water pollution tip hotline: 667-9093). Kristi demonstrates an understanding of the big picture around our waterways, with improved protections; we collectively improve our natural resource based economy! Guest speakers’ and participants were offered free tours to contrast examples of both positive activities on our lake, and cases needing urgent collective action to reverse sources causing pollution. One group who toured the lake with “Captain Kristi” included secondary science teachers, who have received grant monies for chemistry classes outside. Kristi will bring needed legislative attention to issues that threaten our lakes.
Kristi Milan has worked tirelessly to bridge gaps between employers and employees through negotiations and leadership in professional organizations. Through her keen business sense, Kristi has helped raise standards through group consensus, contract adjustments and advocacy to improve wages in Idaho.
After decades of being a working mom, Kristi continues to advocate for families. The family pontoon is one way that three generations of Milans’ get out on “our” lakes. Kristi has the positive energy and skills to help involve legislatures to support wider environmental and economic solutions for healthy lakes and community!
