Jonore A Mitchell, 79

July 9, 1937 – October 28, 2016

Beloved Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma.

Jonore passed quietly from this earth on October 28, 2016, and began her Wonderful Journey to go and be with her Lord and her Loved Ones who had passed before her.

Known to most as Jo, Mom, Aunt Jo, Grandma Jo, or Grandma Jo Jo, Jonore had resided with her daughter Becky in Coeur d’Alene since 2008. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Coeur d’Alene.

Born Jonore Alice Van Bogart in Twinsburg, OH, Jo married Willard Varnes in 1955 and moved to Hudson Ohio. Bill and Jo had three children, Robert, Jerry and Becky. She belonged to the United Methodist Church in Hudson, was a Girl Scout Leader for many years, and active with the Hudson Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary.

Jonore was remarried to John A Mitchell in 1976 and had two children, John A, Jr and Julie. She moved to Florida in 1980, where she lived until 2006.

Jonore is survived by her brother, Daryl Van Bogart of Twinsburg, OH; son and daughter-in-law Robert Varnes and RoseMarie Aldred of Orlando, FL, son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Debbie Varnes of Hudson, OH, daughter and son-in-law Becky and Dwight Finney of Coeur d’Alene, ID, daughter Julie Mitchell of Fredericksburg, VA; niece Sharyl Mayhew, nephew Norman Van Bogart; eleven grandchildren: Starlynn (Darren) Nipp, Isaac Tekancic, Kaitlyn (Michael) Thompson, Krystalynn Tekancic, Joshua Pulliam, Dan (Amber) Varnes, Jessie Varnes, Jake Varnes, Victoria Aldred, Andrew Aldred and Alexis Davis; seven great grandchildren: Dakotah Andrews, Romie Andrews, Brooklyn Thompson, Lizzie Thompson, Skyler Nipp, Brayden Nipp and James Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Joan Van Bogart, her husband John A Mitchell,  her son John A Mitchell, Jr, and her grandson Derek Varnes.

Jonore was a kind and gentle spirit who loved babies and animals. She enjoyed family gatherings, baking cookies, taking the grandkids for ice cream, taco nights with the neighbor kids, root beer floats, walking on boardwalks, playing card games, crocheting afghans, and spending time with her dog Bolo, who was her constant companion. Jonore lived a good, long, life, and in her final days received an abundance of Love and Gratitude from many of the family and friends across the country whose lives she had positively influenced. She is Loved, and will be missed.

Jonore will be laid to rest on Saturday November 5, 2016 at Locust Grove Cemetery in Twinsburg, OH.
