CHURCH: Right to endorse
I’ve been a disgruntled Christian for several years now. I’ve been frustrated with the accommodating, worldly Christian church. They’re the ones that are afraid to step on anyone’s toes. Afraid to offend or make uncomfortable. The goal of the leaders of these churches seems to be numbers. To make everyone feel warm and fuzzy by the time the “show” is over. In that, there’s a good chance the attendees will return.
I respect a pastor/teacher that isn’t afraid to teach the word of God. The HOLY BIBLE. All of it. Not avoid truth and instruction because it makes someone uncomfortable. IT’s meant to convict!
That takes boldness and courage. That someone is more reverent of THE ALMIGHTY GOD than they are of man. That is a person fulfilling “the Great Commission” that Jesus Christ gave his followers. Hopefully, the intent of the gathering believers is to worship, learn and fellowship. That’s my goal, anyway.
On Oct. 23, the pastor of Candlelight Church was that kind of pastor. He spoke about the candidates and the state of our country. He impressed upon the church how important it was to have a leader who held to Biblical values to lead this country. No one can deny the evidence of cause and effect. For every action, there’s a reaction. It’s a natural law of the universe. The universe that God made. The Bible offers teachings on life-giving principles, God’s laws and guidance, not suggestions, on living a moral life. Why would anyone trash that wonderful wisdom? Why would we want someone with a broken moral compass deciding the fate of our nation?
Our God is a God of love and mercy, but he’s a God of judgment as well. If you’re not seeing that judgment being dealt out now, then you are living in a self-induced coma. I thank God for pastor Van Noy and others like him. I will be making Candlelight Fellowship Church my home church.
