CANCER: Lamenting the dead

While I am encouraged and applaud each story of a breast cancer survivor in the Coeur d’Alene Press, I am heartsick over the tragic loss of dear ones who have not survived. I especially grieve over the very recent loss of a fabulous woman whose obit was printed just a week ago on Oct. 22. Please consider highlighting the heroic and significant life of someone who died of metastatic breast cancer during the month of October, even as survivor stories abound to give courage to those who are recently diagnosed, are undergoing treatment and who hope for a long life — and which additionally urge all women to do self-breast exams and have regular exams and mammograms by their medical providers.
