SPRING SHOW: Cd’A Art Association thanks all involved in spring show

The Coeur d’Alene Art Association (CAA) would like to publicly express our thanks to members and businesses of our community for their support of our recent spring show.

We appreciate Kootenai County Fairgrounds for their help in preparing the venue for a professional looking art show. Special thanks to The Press for their help with our advertising and Maureen Dolan for publishing an informative article and photos prior to the show, resulting in super attendance at our 16th Annual Artist Showcase.

We thank our Culinary Business Sponsors for their contributions of food. Bakery by the Lake, Pilgrim’s Whole Foods Market, Pastry and More and Super 1 Foods provided for a splendid Friday evening Artists Reception. Also, thanks to Bill Parsons for playing keyboard during the reception and our noted guest artists, Terry Lee, Joe Kronenberg, Patsey Parsons and Kyle Paliotto, who presented painting demonstrations throughout the evening.

Saturday attendees were treated to music by the Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy’s awesome students in Jazz and Strings Ensembles under the direction of Michael Harrison, along with Mrs. Harrison on keyboard. We thank them all for sharing their Saturday afternoon with us!

Also, thanks to artists Frank Gray and Terry Blakemore for donating paintings for our raffle to raise funds for art student scholarships we award through the North Idaho College Foundation.

As a membership of artists and art lovers, CAA has been sharing the visual arts with the community for over half a century. We welcome interested persons and new members to visit our Meetings on the 3rd Thursday of the month. GRATITUDE: Family Promise thanks Help.Hope.Home supporters

Dear Community of Coeur d’Alene:

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” — William Arthur Ward

Family Promise of North Idaho would like to give the gift of gratitude to all who helped raise money for the mission to give Help.Hope.Home to homeless children and their families. The 5th Annual Family Promise of North Idaho’s Golf/Walk Event rose more than $12,000 due to the generosity of the Event Sponsor Alliance Data; Ace Sponsors Perfection Tire and Mountain West Bank; Eagle Sponsor Frahm & Associates CPAs; Club House Sponsors ACI and Northwest Specialty Hospital. FPNI is grateful for the participants who paid to golf at the lovely Links Golf Club in Post Falls and then, purchased silent auction items. Thank you to the businesses who gave gift certificates for prizes: Caruso’s Sandwich & Pizza Co.; Bristro on Spruce; Henry-Griffitts; Twin Lakes Village Golf Club; Fort Ground Grill; Fire Artisan Pizza; Crickets; and The Links Golf Club. The silent auction items were donated by Henry-Griffitts, Holiday Inn Express Coeur d’Alene; Teri and Bill Burch; Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort and Circling Raven Golf Club; Paddy’s Sports Bar; Spokane Indians; Roy Gilbert; and the Spokane Chiefs.

With the registration fee, our participants got an excellent dinner but the golf ball decorated cupcakes were from Pasties and More; water bottles were donated by Pepsi; tees, ball markers, and divot removers were from American Family Insurance.

Our gift of gratitude goes out to the volunteers, who greeted, registered, and monitored the hole-in-one contests sponsored by Henry-Griffitts. Bankcda and Theresa Gibbons were instrumental in helping us with the credit card machine.

Thank you to Darrell Hull and the team at the Links Golf Club for their support and gracious help putting on the FPNI and Alliance Data 5th Annual Golf/Walk Event. We will be at the Links next May for the 6th Annual Golf/Walk so, everyone Save the Date!

Sincerely

TERI BURCH, president of the board
