Anthony's nears opening
Seafood, fresh local produce and local wines and microbrews are the specialties of Anthony’s at Coeur d’Alene. The restaurant will open to the public at 6 p.m. Monday, June 6, at 1926 W. Riverstone Drive (on the pond).
The new building (designed by Monte Miller of Miller-Stauffer Architects) with woods to reflect the area’s sawmill history, is 6,125 square feet with a 4,200-square-foot partially-covered exterior patio with fireplaces overlooking the pond.
It will seat 150 people indoors with dining area flanking the open-display kitchen and overlooking the pond. The restaurant will serve lunch (later the first week) and dinner and employ 80 people.
Operating since 1969, Anthony’s has 18 restaurants, seven casual eateries, three to-go places and its own seafood company. Key Coeur d’Alene people are Drew Walker, general manager, and chef Rick Reichelt.
Owner Budd Gould said, “We have two great leaders in Drew and Rick. Their excitement for the new restaurant is contagious, and I know they will bring our values to their team.”
Anthony’s hosts a grand-opening benefit event Saturday (June 4) for the North Idaho College Foundation. Contact 769-5978.
