Janice Marie Harger, 63
Janice Marie Harger, 63, passed away peacefully at her home in Hayden, Idaho, on Monday, May 23, 2016. She was born March 23, 1953, in Butte, Mont., to Marion and Leo Williams.
Janice was preceded in death by her father; brother Richard and her late husband, Rand Lyal Sloan. Also her favorite four-legged friends, “Forrest Gump” and “Cinnamon,” are waiting for her in heaven. Survivors include her mother, Marion Williams; sisters Cheryl Ruegsegger (Dewey) and Marlene Stonelake (Lynn); and sons Dustin (Chandra) and Tracy Sloan. Also surviving are grandsons Seven and Bennett Sloan, Alexandria and Michael Stanford, Jordan and Bridget Palm, and Madison Palm; great-grandson Brayden Stanford; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Janice grew up in Dillon, Mont., and graduated from Beaverhead County High School in 1971. She was married to Rand Sloan and they had two boys, Tracy Rand Sloan and Dustin Lyal Sloan.
She enjoyed working in the restaurant business and was a favorite of many customers, who became some of her best friends. Janice was a giving and loving mother. She was also a wonderful doting grandmother. Janice enjoyed camping, boating and jet skiing. She was an avid reader. One of her hobbies was collecting ceramic pigs and antique cookie jars.
Janice was full of life, always had a story to tell, always had a smile on her face.
A viewing will be was held Friday, May 27, 2016, at Bell Tower Funeral Home in Post Falls, Idaho. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, May 28, 2016, at the Kroc Center, 1765 W. Golf Course Road, Coeur d’Alene. Reception immediately following service. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Dillon. Bell Tower Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
