James 'Jim' Louis Edgington, 69
James “Jim” Louis Edgington, 69, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away May 17, 2016, at the Hospice House in Hayden, Idaho. Jim was born Sept. 25, 1946, in Belen, N.M., to Louis and Rachel (Burnett) Edgington.
Jim was raised in Belen where he attended and graduated from Belen High School in 1965. He then became a police officer in Clovis, N.M. There he met Vicki Bradshaw, and they were later married on Dec. 19, 1973, in Clovis. They were married 42 years when Jim passed.
Jim felt a calling and moved his family to Texas where he attended Gulf Coast Bible College, earning a degree in theology, graduating in 1981 with honors. He then served as a pastor at the First Church of God in San Angelo, Texas, until 1985 when he moved to Rapid City, S.D. There he again served as a pastor at the First Church of God until 1988. He then served as a police officer and chaplain for the local police department. He eventually retired and moved to North Idaho, settling in Post Falls.
Jim was a member of North Country Chapel. Jim loved spending time outdoors, and enjoyed hunting big game and fishing.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Edgington of the family home in Post Falls; one daughter, Kelly Edgington of Post Falls and one granddaughter, Melissa Edgington of Post Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Bell Tower Funeral Home, 3398 E. Jenalan Ave., Post Falls.
