Wendy (Forest) Hamblin, 60

| May 22, 2016 9:00 PM

Wendy (Forest) Hamblin, 60, of the Priest River area, passed peacefully in the arms of Jesus with her family by her side. She was released from the devastating effects of ALS on April 10, 2016. She was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on April 28, 1955, to Wayne and Irene Forest, growing up at her parents’ business, Forest Bros. Auto Wrecking, between Kootenai and Ponderay.

From the time Wendy got her first pony, Mr. Lucky, when she was 6 years old, her passion and life revolved around horses. Most of her life was spent in the saddle, racing barrels, or riding and hunting in the mountains with her children, grandchildren and friends.

Wendy had numerous and varied careers; most were physically difficult jobs that she performed without complaint. She ponied race horses at Playfair and Coeur d’Alene race track, worked in shipping and receiving at ISC/Olivetti in Liberty Lake, Wash., Verizon, Frontier, Comcast Cable, and then Idaho Forest Group at Riley Creek.

Wendy is survived by her daughter, Kelly Jo Dahlstrom (Ben); son Michael Meek (Jolene) and six grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Irene Jordan; her sister, Janice (Darrel) White of Post Falls, Idaho; as well as numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.

Thank you in advance for helping us fight ALS by donating to the ALS Association.
