STATE 3A, 2A, 1A TRACK AND FIELD MEET: Duclos win lifts Timberlake boys to fourth in 3A
MIDDLETON — Timberlake’s Randy Duclos ran past the competition in the 100-meter dash, winning the state 3A boys championship in 11.39 seconds on Saturday at Middleton High.
Timberlake’s boys finished fourth in the meet with 69 points. Shelley swept the 3A boys and girls team titles.
Duclos was also fourth in the 200 (23.32), the school’s 4x100 team was second (44.42) and Dan Smith finished fourth in the discus with a mark of 140 feet.
Kara Steele of Kellogg was second in the long jump (16-6 1/2) and was also third in the discus on Friday.
In the 2A meet, Coeur d’Alene Charter’s Brooklyn Cunningham was third in the 100 (13.45) and 200 (27.08), helping the Panther girls to an 11th place finish.
Landon Chang finished fourth in the 1,600 in 4:45.74 for the Coeur d’Alene Charter boys, who finished 12th.
Nampa Christian (boys) and Declo (girls) won team titles.
In the 1A meet, Kootenai’s Madison Napierala was fourth in the 100 (13.67).
Liberty Charter (girls) and Kamiah (boys) won team titles. Kamiah clipped Challis 63-62 for the boys championship.
