Several business-related projects currently are in the “consideration” process in Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene. We’ll outline the ones we know about.

First in the line for Post Falls is a Rogers Burgers that would be built close to Interstate 90 in the southwest corner of Spokane Street and Fourth Avenue. It would have the indoor restaurant and a drive-through. The company has two places in Coeur d’Alene — one on East Sherman and the other at 155 W. Neider Ave.

Other Post Falls projects include Silverlake Auto, an automotive repair and maintenance place at 3380 E. Mullan Ave., and a Green & Grounds Coffee Shop in the southwest corner of Polston Avenue and Calgary Court.

And a new fast-food place that would be the first of its chain in this area would be a Popeye’s (Louisiana Kitchen) at Highway 41 and 676 N. Neufeld Drive (just south of Mullan Avenue).

The menu includes several chicken and shrimp dishes, sandwiches, sides, kids’ and family meals and desserts. The company started in 1972 and has more than 2,000 outlets (1,600 in the states and 400 international). The headquarters is in Atlanta. Check www.popeyes.com.

A professional office building is being considered for Coeur d’Alene behind Zips at the corner of Lakeside and Eighth.

Dickey’s BBQ near Silver Lake Mall

A Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurant evidently is planned for the old Skippers Fish building along Highway 95 at Silver Lake Mall. Skippers has moved inside the mall.

Meats are slow cooked and can include several home-style sides, sauces and kids’ meals. Founded in 1941, Dickey’s has more than 500 places in 43 states with its headquarters in Dallas. Check www.dickeys.com.

The Coffee Market in Neider Center

Coffee and bar supplies for businesses and homes are offered at The Coffee Market, which has opened its second location next to Little Caeser’s Pizza in Neider Center (across from Costco).

The store offers syrups, cups, zip fizz, big trains, glassware and more. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Phone 666-1115. The first store is at 167 W. Miles Ave. in Hayden.

Exodus Repair opens Monday

The grand opening for Exodus Repair & Sales is Monday at 3024 Government Way (north of Best Tire).

With 24 years of experience, Exodus offers light paint and body work, rock-chip repair, small dent removal, detailing, RV repair, and motorcycle and ATV sales. The RV work includes electrical, plumbing, hitch installation, satellite TV, carpet, tile, linoleum, solar panels, roof repair and seal and buying-selling inspections.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Phone 930-0321. Check Facebook.

Now for the Tidbits

- Watch for news on 777 Take-n-Bake Pizza on Best Avenue, G.I. Java Coffee House on Fourth Street, The Lean Bean in Post Falls, An Escape Game on Third Street, a new business next to Clark’s Jewelry downtown and Empire Eye, Custom Den, Grille From Ipanema and Anthony’s Restaurant in Riverstone.

- Other new places coming include Monet Floors & Home Design moving on Government Way, Landmark Storage behind Neider Retail Center, Alta Dance Academy, Panera Bread and Hayden Medical Plaza & Clinics in Hayden and Cracker Barrel (June 20) and Orban Family Dental near Winco.

- Pastry & More has closed in Riverstone. The other store is open at 411 W. Haycraft. Phone 667-3808.

- It’s the season for graduation news. A student doesn’t “graduate” a school. He/she “graduates from” it.

- Last week while walking the main Tubbs Hill trail I was just ahead of two women. One was telling a loooong story with “you know” once or twice in every sentence. I counted the 300th “you know” before we were one-quarter around, and I stopped and “rested” to let them get out-of-earshot ahead of me.

- It was a lot easier to get older than wiser.

- The latest survey shows three of four people make up 75 percent of the population.
