STATE TENNIS TOURNAMENTS: DuCoeur in hunt for third in 5A singles

BOISE — Jack DuCoeur went 2-1 in boys singles on the opening day of the state 5A tennis tournament, advancing to today’s consolation round to face Lucas Dibelius of Mountain View.

Chris Vargas and CC Cates of Lake City won in their opening match 8-4, but lost in straight sets to Timberline to fall into the consolation bracket.

CALDWELL — The Coeur d’Alene Charter girls doubles team of Mae Alexander and Alexa Ricks advanced to a semifinal match, losing in straight sets to Parma at Vallivue High.
