LININGERS: Closed to other opinions

| May 20, 2016 9:00 PM

I just read a letter to the editor from the Liningers chastising Tony Stewart and Christie Wood. Their statements implied, if you are open-minded and seek human rights for everyone, then you are also anti-gun, anti-white, anti-Christian and pro-gay. That sounds like a bigoted opinion to me. I guess the Liningers don’t want to hear any opinions other than their own. Free speech only applies to them?

Then I read a letter from Tim Stiles, who thinks if you don’t believe in God, you are a fool. (Psalm 14:1). I looked up this verse. In my Bible it is Psalm 13:1. The verse also says, if you think there is no God, you are corrupt, you have done things that must be abhorred and you can do no good. There are people who strongly disagree with the precepts of Psalm 13:1. They are called “Humanists.” They believe you can be honest, truthful and kind, without God.
