BEAR: No joy in slaying
I find your piece on little Cooper Surplus and his parents celebrating around a dead bear extremely disturbing. They were dressed in their silly camouflaged clothing as if they had accomplished something joyous. Your newspaper sugar coated the piece describing the slaughter as a harvest. I view it, as many of your other readers, as a senseless, cruel act. To kill a defenseless bear that died in pain and fear is nothing more than psychotic behavior carried out by a dysfunctional family who are nothing more than social misfits. They take pleasure in posing with the dead animal with much glee. It’s disgusting and the Coeur d’Alene Press should not enable and encourage these heartless cowards and dress up their deed as some kind of “Feel Good” article.
